Battery Screen

Not only does my phone's percentage drop like crazy, or stay at 1% for hours, but it will also die and not come back on. Once my phone dies it has a tendency to stay on the charging screen and not come back on. It has done this once before and I had to reset it back to factory settings. Quite frankly, I really do not want to have to keep doing this. I also cannot contact Apple Support because my only phone in which to contact them, is dead and won't come back on. So if you could please help that would great.
